AUDITIONS

for the 2008 Fall Play

 

Cheaper by the Dozen

November 6-8, 2008

Auditions will take place on Wednesday, October 1st after school in the choir room.  Callbacks will take place on Thursday, October 2nd.  Please be prepared to read from the script.  Copies of the script are available to read in the Media Center.  The cast and crew list will be posted on Friday, October 3rd, outside the main office and choir room after school followed by the first read through.

 

Only students who have paid an ASB Activity Fee for Drama will be allowed to audition or participate in stage crew.  This $35 fee may only be paid at the Skyview Business Office.

 

CAST:

Mr. Gilbreth – Dad: efficient and controlling, but in a loving way

Mrs. Gilbreth – Mother: patient and kind, and very intellectual

Ernestine – child #3: elegantly mature in a girly sort of way, slightly rebellious

Frank, Jr. – child #5: elegantly mature in a boyish sort of way, Irish and Dutch accent (two lines)

Jackie – child #10: eager and playful, must not be allergic to dogs

Dan – child #9: eager and playful, boyish, must not be allergic to dogs

Bill – child #6: eager and playful, boyish

Fred – child #8: eager and playful, boyish, must not be allergic to dogs

Anne – child #1: the oldest, she is growing up and breaking away from her family

Lillian – child #7: still a small girl, all of life is new and exciting

Martha – child #4: the youngest of the oldest girls,

Mrs. Fitzgerald – the housekeeper: a kind woman, she’s completely devoted to the family

Dr. Burton – the family doctor: a nice man and a good family friend

Joe Scales – a cheerleader: Anne’s first boyfriend, 1920’s style cheerleading required

Miss Brill – a teacher: a cold and heartless woman

Larry – a boyfriend: a nice guy

 

CREW:

Assistant Director – Mr. Denton’s assistant, must be organized and responsible

Props Manager – collects, organizes, and manages props; leads stagehands

Make-up/Costume Manager – helps actors with make-up and organizes costumes

Publicity Chairperson – organizes distribution of flyers, sells ads: works with parent board

Many stagehands and construction crew - build and paint the set, help with make-up and costumes, move props on and off stage
